Introducing

The worlds most advanced bicycle fitting tool.
For those looking to get the ultimate fit on their road or tri bike, "motion capture" has been a hot commodity even though previous systems claiming to capture motion are merely video technology to allow simple on screen measuring. RETUL, however, is true 3 dimensional motion capture that measures 8 points on the body (hip, knee, ankle etc) 18x/second and gives accurate fit data previously not thought possible. It is truly amazing. The GBC has purchased the system to continue to be the upstate leader in bicycle fit.
Even if you are not in the market for a bike fit, click on the link if you like technology.
As a way to introduce this technology to our customer base, we are offering a free RETUL fitting (a value of $250) to anyone buying a road or Tri bike that's $2,000 or more until the end of January.

Why these hours? We want to give you the best service all the time. When we
were open 6 days a week (as we have been in the past), we were short-staffed 4 days out of 6. This led to sub par
service at times. Now we will be FULLY STAFFED 5 out of 5 days. In addition, our
staff will have more time to ride and be with their families.
Geneva Bicycle Center
2009 Weekly Ride Schedule
We expect these rides to start the first week of April and continue until around the fall time change. Please be aware that these rides are weather dependent. Call the shop if there is a question, 315-789-5922. Please bring a helmet, water, food, and clothing that you would normally have on a ride. We recommend a red flashing light for the back of your bike in case of a late return and/or rain.
Monday Night Ice Cream Ride: ~6 miles Mondays 6pm
A family focused activity with all skill levels welcome. The ride will begin at the Geneva Bicycle Center at 6PM Mondays, June-September. This will be a flat loop through the scenic Seneca Lake State Park. Stops to appreciate nature and accommodate anyone in need will be common. Enjoy the sunset and the breezes blowing in off the lake and we will end our ride with a stop by the Ice Cream Stand near Long Pier and the Ramada Inn. Those wanting a bit more exercise may elect to do 2 laps of the enclosed park for a total of 12 miles.
Monday Night Mountain Bike Ride: Mondays 7:15pm
Charge your light, grab your mountain bike and join Mark for a ride at the local trails. Meet out front and ‘street ride’ your way to the trails and ride as long as your light allows. The trails offer a variety of terrain and technical challenges, a hard tail or dual suspension mountain bike is the preferred bike for this ride. Improve your mountain bike skills and experience the fun and challenge of night riding! (For your safety at least a 10 watt light is required).
Tuesday Night Ride: ~30 (+/-) miles Tuesdays 6pm
This is a ride for road and touring cyclists looking to do an easier-paced, but spirited ride. Various routes through Ontario and Seneca counties will be explored. Paces will average between 16 and 18 miles per hour and no stops will be planned, though stops to allow riders to catch up or address mechanical issues may occur. This is a perfect opportunity for those wanting to learn group-riding techniques including effective communication and riding a pace line. Though this ride is intended as a ride for road bikes, all types are welcome, but please note the 16 – 18 mph avg. speed.
Thursday Night Go-Fast Ride: ~38(+) miles Thursdays 5:30pm
This is just what it says it is; a ride for those interested in and capable of going fast. Leaving from the shop a little earlier-5:30, the ride pace will average be over 20 miles per hour with no planned stops. Occasional regrouping pauses may be made. Pace line and performance bike handling skills are needed. While the “Wheelman’s Loop” of 38 miles is the norm, extensions, hills and changes to the route are common. Be ready for anything on this ride.
(We strongly encourage a few Tuesday rides before jumping right into this ride.)
Saturday Morning Women’s Ride: ~20(+/-) miles Saturdays 8am
For women only! This is the best way to start your weekend. Suzanne will lead a 12-16 mile/hr ride on some of her favorite local routes. Fun, fitness and road riding skills are the focus of this all inclusive women’s ride. There will be no planned stops, although regrouping pauses are common. Come join the Geneva Bicycle Center’s best attended ride, catch up with friends, and refuel at The Coffee House across the street after the ride.
Happy Rider Fine Print
1. Helmets are required on all rides. No exceptions, none at all.
2. All ride times are departure times. Please be ready to roll at the designated times.
3. While we are happy to host these rides, Geneva Bicycle Center and its’ employees are not in any way responsible for you, your health, your bike or your actions while you ride with us. This is an unpaid activity with participants simply sharing public streets. There should be no expectation by any party of services or liability implied or otherwise.
4. Please obey traffic laws and have respect for pedestrians, motorists and other cyclists.
5. It is strongly recommended that you bring a spare tube and patch kit for your bike on the longer rides.
6. Please have your bike in good working order to ensure everyone’s uninterrupted fun.
